Michael Bühler-Rose

Michael Bühler-Rose reinterprets the 15th-century wood intarsia of the Gubbio Studiolo, creating composited trompe l’oeils through meticulously inlaid wood. His compositions of obtained and curated aspirational objects act as flattened portraits, exploring how collected materials reveal one’s inner life or biography.
